Vol 29 - No 05 - July/August 2003 More Awards for Institute members: Success at Tyco Electronics In May, Tyco Electronics in Swindon held an awards ceremony for those personnel who had undertaken an in-house Certificate course delivered by East Berkshire College, in Maidenhead. The programme started in April 2002 and 14 students, from 3 Tyco locations in Swindon, completed the course, submitted their assignments and took the exams. Phil Dryden, Operations Director, kindly took time out to present the Certificates to the students. He commented that Operations Management, Supply Chain, and Planning were just unimportant backwaters when he first arrived at the company, but now they are absolutely fundamental to the success of the business.
