Vol 29 - No 07 - November 2003 Member news: Carl Tomlinson moves to Manchester’s Manufacturing Institute Carl Tomlinson, MIOM has joined the practitioner team at the Manufacturing Institute and will help boost the productivity of small and medium sized firms across the North West. As part of its role in delivering the DTI’s Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS), The Manufacturing Institute offers up to two days free practitioner time to North West companies with fewer than 250 employees. A qualified mechanical engineer, Carl takes up his new post after being recruited from Warrington based Ineos Silicas, where he was Materials and Planning Manager. Mike Price, the Manufacturing Institute’s Head of Practitioner Services, said: “The appointment of seasoned specialists such as Carl significantly increases our ability to help regional manufacturers to increase productivity and boost their bottom line”.
