Officers elected to Council

The following were formally elected at the AGM on 7th October 2004 as Members of the Council. These members are your representatives, so if you have any issues that you wish to raise with them or views that you would like to express, please send them an email. Mark Clelland

Mark has a wealth of knowledge in both operations and strategic planning as a result of 15 years experience at management level. Until recently he was Project Planning and Financial Benefits Manager for Royal Mail’s 74 national mail centres, most recently managing a project to introduce simplified sorting techniques to all of the mail centres and achieving a £19 million saving.

Mark has a professional background of academic and vocational qualifications in management and finance, including an MBA. He is hoping to actively participate in and effectively contribute to the IOM Council and welcome’s this opportunity to represent members.

Malcolm Granger

Malcolm is currently Director of his own consulting company, RALF Consulting Ltd. Prior to this he worked for Oracle for 8 years, firstly as an implementation consultant, then in sales consulting, specialising in supply chain management.

In all Malcolm has over 20 years experience in all aspects of manufacturing and supply chain management.

A Fellow of the Institute, Malcolm has been a member for over 20 years, serving as National Chairman (1993-95) and on most of the national committees.

He recently became Editor for Control.

Steve Jewsbury

Steve has been a member of the Institute of Operations Management since 1985 and has regularly supported branch events and other activities in both the Southern and Midlands branches. He has been the Institute’s Honorary Treasurer for the last 4 years, and has experience of both Management Committee and Council activities.

Steve’s career has seen him working in many areas of operations management within manufacturing industry, including electronics, plastic moulding and extrusion and chemicals. He now works in the Supply Chain department in Delphi Diesel Aftermarket in Warwick.

Delphi is a leading manufacturer of diesel fuel injection systems.

Paula Stevenson

Paula has over 10 years supply chain experience working predominantly in the automotive and engineering industries. Her experience covers the management of supply chain processes from production planning to inventory control as well as ERP systems implementation and change management. She has also worked in a project environment defining and implementing supply chain processes as well as distribution centre layouts.

Paula is currently the Product Availability Manager for Cadbury Trebor Bassett and has been working in FMCG for 2 years.

Derek Thomason

Derek Thomason is General Manager - Supply Chain Design with Unipart’s Solution Practice and runs his own consultancy, Sofard. He trained as a Physical Chemist and has been a member of the Institute for over 12 years. For the past 8 years, Derek has worked for a range of international consultancies; his clients have included Airbus, ASDA, BUPA, Dell, Ford, Honda, Icopal, Marley, the NHS, Samsung, Sandvik and Shell. Prior to this, he was European Logistics and Supply Chain Management Director for Kodak’s Health Imaging Division. Derek is married with two children, lives in South Oxfordshire and enjoys travel, the arts and sports.
