Vol 31 - No 01 - February 2005 Institute news: Local Branches It is great to see reports on so many fascinating talks and visits on the Branch News pages. Several of our Branches have been very active and their members have enjoyed the opportunity to network with other colleagues in the operations management profession and to see and hear about best practice in the field. However, there are still parts of the country that are not well served and the Institute is keen to support its members in arranging such events in their area. If you are keen to get more involved with your local Branch or have any ideas for talks and visits in your area, please contact Julie Tayler at IOM HQ. Talk on Supplier Accreditation, 9th March 2005, Hook, Hampshire Visit to John Crane, 16th March 2005, Slough, Berkshire. The theme for this session is the “War on Waste” or Lean. Remember, as a member you can attend any Branch event, even if it is not in your area.
