Institute news : National CommitteesOn this note, the Institute would also welcome new members for our National Committees, particularly Events, Short Courses and Publications.
The Publications Committee is responsible for producing Control. Its purpose is to find, review and create content for the journal, which is topical and leading edge, and to disseminate it to the operations management community. The journal aims to promote the profession, as well as develop the knowledge and understanding of the subject.
The Events Committee aims to provide a programme of events that extends and promotes the operations management knowledge base, providing an outlet for both pioneering work and best practice. The events should enhance the member’s professional development, promote the status of the Institute and encourage membership growth.
The purpose of the Short Courses Committee is to provide members with the opportunity to attend high quality, cost effective programmes at all stages of their career progression. The Committee seeks to ensure that the topics and course content evolve to meet changes in business needs and members’ requirements.
These Committees would welcome people interested in bringing a fresh perspective to how the Institute can meet the needs of its membership. For further information, contact Julie Tayler at the Institute’s HQ.
