Vol 26 - No 01 - February 2000 Member news: Barrie Pritchard, MIOM, LTI, AIMgt Barrie Pritchard was offered the position of General Manager with American Non-Wovens Corporation in 1999 and saw this as a challenge he could not refuse... They have four manufacturing sites in the States serving industrial and medical markets and have a very aggressive growth plan over the next few years. His responsibilities will include over-seeing the day-to-day operations of the needlepunch plant, based in Columbus, Mississippi, but more specifically improving the overall supply chain through continues improvement programmes and forming partnerships with both customers and suppliers. Barrie previously worked at Lantor UK Limited (manufacturers of non-woven fabrics) where he spent 241/2 years with the company in various positions including Quality Assurance, Technical before moving into operations where his last position was Production Manager from 1992 - 1999. Barrie says that having completed the Institute's Diploma in Production & Inventory Management at Wigan College in July 1999, he believes this will stand him in good stead.
