Automated Replenishment

Automated Replenishment (AR) is an umbrella term covering a number of concepts.

Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI), Efficient Consumer Response (ECR) Continuous Replenishment Process (CRP) etc that are appropriate to a large number of industries and trading partners. All these processes rely on Inter or Intra Enterprise collaboration and are enabled by the technology of EDI, the Internet and Extensible Mark-up Language (XML). Interest in AR is also being driven by initiatives such as Collaborative Planning, Forecasting and Replenishment (CPFR) which is increasingly being sited as the next big step toward in supply chain efficiency.
