Back in early 1998 in an article entitled ‘The Year 2000 and Beyond – The need for Agile Software Systems’ I touched on some of the ways available to customise and integrate packaged software to your own internal systems...

Since then, EAI (Enterprise Application Integration) has come a long way and become a major software industry in its own right, and one that is currently going through significant change, primarily driven by the new trading methods and opportunities presented by the Internet. In that same time I've also moved from the field of packaged ERP software to join one of the leading vendors of integration software.
