This article explores elements of manufacturing excellence and determinants of managerial quality that are influencing manufacturing effectiveness...

It uses primary data to assess success in manufacturing and secondary investigation to identify and analyse the Anglo-Saxon and the Japanese measures of management quality in manufacturing organisations. It compares the above two perspectives and highlights three assessment categories that are used to evaluate quality of management decision making. It suggests that manufacturing excellence and competitiveness depend on the quality level of the behavioural, output, and systems related decisions that are made by managers in order to continuously satisfy customers expectations, employees needs and technological requirements of their organisations...
