Virtual enterprise: myth and reality

This paper attempts first to clarify what is meant by Virtual Enterprise (VE) and the way that this concept may be reconciled with current work on Supply Chain Management and Partnerships. It goes on to describe the ways in which a VE might operate and the issues that must be addressed before the VE structure can become successful. Finally, some ways by which a company might prepare for participation in a VE are explored.
