World class manufacturing: myth or reality?

World Class Manufacturing (WCM) is a concept of what a manufacturing company needs to be, or to do, in order to be capable of competing with any other company in its field worldwide. The ability to determine whether a manufacturing company is world class depends therefore on making comparisons with other companies worldwide.
